About Me
Sound Practitioner, Birth Advocate and Psychotherapist
Wellness consultant and practitioner in Waltham Forest with three decades of wholistic health and healing.

My name is Arlene Dunkley-Wood.
My passion has always been to help people. That has taken form in the past as birth educator and advocate for normalising the process of birth.
I am currently a certified Gong and SoundBath practitioner, therapeutic massage practitioner, Doula, Craniosacral therapist & BACP counsellor specialising in Birth Recovery & hypnotherapy.
It is my vocation to help you improve your holistic wellbeing. I have been working in the wellness industry for three decades, providing wholistic health and healing.
The birth process is my particular passion, which I have supported as an active birth educator, specialist YogaBirth teacher, doula and advocate for informed birth for women. I have guided hundreds of women through pregnancy with yoga, breathwork and practical birth postures, as well as helping them to prepare their bodies for optimal birth through massage, craniosacral therapy and mindfulness relaxation tips.
Thirty years on, I am still dedicated to helping babies land in this world into open, loving arms, and to supporting mothers through this life changing process. I have become increasingly concerned about the birth trauma and its impact on women and families. Perinatal counselling and birth recovery sessions allow me to combine my counselling and doula skills to provide a healing start to family life.
I have also developed a strong interest in energy work for other stages of life, adding gong and sound therapy to my offering, alongside craniosacral therapy, breathwork and yoga.
Hi Arlene - thank you, you made me feel a foot taller after that session, so I'd like to sign up! by

I have been attending Arlene's classes for over 20 years. She always seems to be doing something to develop her skills which she then brings to the group so that, as participants, we always feel like we are learning and growing. In recent years, I know she has done a lot of gong training to make sound baths a really special experience.

Arlene’s yoga sessions are always so therapeutic at both body and mind level. She develops good understanding of the needs of people in the group and provides both challenges as well as encouragement for us all to push the body to relax as well as extend and stretch. The sessions include significant demands as well as relaxation and checking in with different parts of the body alongside mindfulness and breathing.
