🔊 Petition against the latest NICE guidelines

There are deep concerns regarding the NICE draft guidelines on Inducing Labour! The implication of the latest amends will have a severely negative impact for women and their families as the latest guidelines take NO consideration of our lived experiences.

Here is a summary of a few problems that Royal Free London Maternity Voices have raised:

  1. Nothing about us, without us! The draft guidelines do not include or reflect the ‘woman’s voice’.

  2. The evidence base for the Inducing Labour guidelines are too narrow.

  3. The suggested changes to offer induction in later pregnancy as routine, ignores qualitative and quantitative data around the inaccuracy of ‘due’ dates.

  4. We also call for more research into the NICE guidance for women of black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
